Most of the tracks have been declicked to death. It is astonishing that nobody can hear the damage they do the percussion attacks when they crank those plugins up to maximum in a desperate bid to remove vinyl surface noise with one mouse click.

I was after the majority of these tunes for a while and I loathed paying £20.00 plus for each on 12" from the US, so I was relieved when I got hold of the vinyl. Such a good comp, my personal fave for many a year but that is down to taste. The dubs make the comp. The dubs are what were played out back then and what I have been playing out the last few years, they keep the dancers rocking-is that not the point?

"WHY do they INSIST on dubs and instrumentals!?"

Because it is the sole purpose of this release.
And at last we don't have here the same versions over and over on countless of compilations. This is a terrific job, the work on Dub versions is incredible and was ahead at that time. This is the sound of the Garage late at night, when you take a ride through your mind, slow, low, groovy and dubby.

Thanks to Dimitri and BBE.

This is an immaculate collection of excellent electro-funk/disco crossover tunes, and it's highly addictive listening. Uplifting stuff, and it shows what taste DMP and the Idjut Boys have.

However I have one huge peeve with these modern disco/italo-disco compilations... WHY do they INSIST on dubs and instrumentals!?

Obviously this collection is aimed at DJs, but for home listening many of these tracks go on for too long and lack much-needed vocal hooks to keep the interest afloat. A missed opportunity, why not have a vocal collection on CD for home listeners, and the dubs on vinyl?

Not satisfying, for that reason. Frustrating, even.
