before john martyn , before u2 , gabriel , genesis etc there was the worlds first cd single - it was DIRE STRAITS .

this is it . ultra rare . JEWEL CASE , FOLD OUT INSERT .

Brothers in arms was the first ever UK CD-single, reported as limited to 200-400 copies. Issued in 1985 to tie in with the world tour (sponsored by Philips Compact Disc) and promote the first Compact Disc players (made by Philips). In 1986, another CD-single of Brothers in arms was released and strictly limited to 200-400 copies, if reports are to be believed. Both discs are identical, right down to the catalogue number (884 285-2). The only difference between the two is the Philips logo on the front of the CD inlay and the 1986 version is slightly darker pink coloured. The Live in '86 has a coloured logo, and the Live in '85 is simply blue and white. Jewel case.

EDIT SEPT 2013 - MY COPY IS NOW FOR SALE , RELUCTANTLY !
