I'm in the process of collecting all of the Dispatch LPs on vinyl, and this is the best-sounding of the two that I have so far! In my review of Bang Bang, I mentioned how some of the louder or more crowded sections of that LP have a fuzzy distortion going on; not so with Silent Steeples! This one sounds crisp throughout, no problems that I can remember.

If I had to rank them, this would probably be my least favorite Dispatch album (full disclosure: I haven't really given their newest album a fair shake, so I didn't count it). However, that doesn't mean it's bad. My favorite Dispatch songs are the ones that have a rockier "edge" ("Mission," "Lightning," "Time Served," etc.), and I don't think they'd really mastered it on this record yet. But it's definitely worth a listen!
