If you are only going to make ONE album, it should be THIS GOOD.
One of the best funk albums ever recorded. Rivals P-funk in it's musicianship and ferociousness. This one is essential for funk lovers.

I have a copy but i'm not 100% sure if it's an original press. My copy has the inner lyric sleeve, the label says promotional copy not for sale - GRP 5509 and in the run out on side 1 GOD IS LOVE GRP - 5509 / side 2 GRP - 5509 - L36603 X. Has a gold sticker on the cover is cut right next to the N on the front of the cover where it says DON. Is this an original or a bootleg?

One of my all time favourite jazz funk albums, not a bad track here, all bangers one after the other.
I so wish Don made more albums back in the day.

A horrible digitally compressed cheap as chips vinyl reissue. You get what you pay for. Rubbish!!!!

my GRP copy's matrix is not much of any information of Discogs.

A: GRP 5509 SA M1 MR 25614
B: GRP 5509 SB M1 M2 A(triangle mark)-25614-x
GOD IS LOVE（on A side）、STERLING（on both side）

the logo on the label is red brown, the cover is not promo.
i think this title was pressed in several place..
anyway the white promo label without STERLING is not the early issue,
that copy's cover printing quality is lower than other color label copies...

Runout info updated. STERLING stamped both sides. Run out scribes are T1 or TI rather than HI and there is also a small (triangular) delta shape of dots ⁂ on both sides. Sterling mastering engineer Ted Jenson is (unusually) identified by only 'T' on both sides, appears he cut the B side first, then the A side. Pressings have wide ring RCA pattern mould marks. Promo copies were stock pressings with gold promo stamped sleeves.

This B&W promo label version doesn't have a STERLING stamp on the run out. The Greg Lee Processing number # 36673 dates this squarely into 1990. Promos of the original pressing didn't have B&W promo labels - only stock copies with gold promo stamped sleeves. Lastly the centre pill (mould) marks on the labels aren't the same. Initial copies did come with b&w printed inners, but usually they came in a plain white die-cut paper inner.
