The title says it all: it is indeed awhile since we heard anything of Double Trouble, the former backing band of guitar legend Stevie Ray Vaughan. Although: Chris Layton (drums, percussion) and Tommy Shannon (bass) diving regularly as ' special guest ' or session musician on CDs by others, as recently at Johnny Winter and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. On Leg A Long Time actually happens the same because it chokes here. Blues connoisseurs would enough need to know by seeing the following names: Charlie Sexton (guitar, vocals and organ), Doyle Bramhall II (guitar and vocals), Jimmy Vaughan (guitar and vocals), Reese Wynans (keyboards), Susan Tedeschi, Jonny Lang and Eric Johnson. You would say it with such good musicians never a bad album can be. Only very weak song-material would can throw a spanner in the works. And let that well on Leg A Long Time still almost happen also. Happy chose Layton and Shannon just in time for a few covers: Rock And Roll by Led Zeppelin and she's All Right by Muddy Waters. This keeps the album enough buoys to the closing track to continue listening. And then we are rewarded for our patience because Baby, there's No One Like You is the absolute highlight of the cd. This tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan, with the participation of Dr. John and Willie Nelson, Been A Long Time all in all a spacious enough.

It's been a long time - Double Trouble (CD) 2001
This album closes with an un-credited 30 second recording of SRV performing ‘Chateaux
strut’ at Lupo’s, Rhode Island in the early eighties. The recording was taken from an
anonymous audience recording which would in bootleg circles be rated as ‘very good’ sound
quality.
