I have a completely new copy of this version and I'm selling it... I don't know why it isn't permitted to sell on Discogs :(

Drake's new album, as successful as it is, is probably his most disappointing. The album does have some interesting production along with it, but at the same time I feel like he's not trying hard to have that same mentality that he had when he made IF YOU'RE READING THIS, IT'S TOO LATE or NOTHING WAS THE SAME. Overall, I can't deny this man's success, for there are a few good songs on here (Feel No Ways, Weston Road Flows, Child's Play, Views), but four songs out of nineteen does not really make a good album for me. I just hope he steps it up next time in the near future.

Diverse album. Enjoyed it, it's a pleasure to see Hip Hop artists put on their city so nicely.

I wrote an in depth blog post here: http://www.phantasiastudios.com/blogs/music/views-from-the-6/

In my opinion this album wasn't as good as If You're Reading This It's Too Late or What A Time To Be Alive, but I do believe it is better than some of his previous albums such as Nothing Was The Same and Take Care. As stated in an interview, the whole album progresses through seasons of Drake's life-from Winter to Summer and back to Winter again(giving it a colder vibe that lightens up just to be cold again). The change of the seasons has to do with the different relationships he has established/lost which ultimately produces a sour taste in your ear. It is apparent that almost everything he states on the album has significant/personal meaning to Drake-but the overall production is repetitive at times with harsh rap beats and poppy synth production which makes this album seem like a step backwards. Even the messages on the album are pretty limited to Drake's relationships, it's not about him growing as a producer or having a really big team that need some really nice things. It's about Drake and his relationships-that's it. So it didn't feel like it was "views from the 6 (Toronto)," but more like views of Drake's relationships by Drake. With the cheesy terrible lines, overwhelmingly repetitive beats/poppy synth-It is clear this album won't have the same impact as his previous albums. Even the most well known song "Hotline Bling" is the highlight of the album that he saves as a "bonus" track.
3/5
Favorite tracks: 9, Redemption, Still Here, Child's Play, One Dance, Hotline Bling.
