This record was made as a tribute to the legendary Nota Bene café in Louvain (Belgium). This spot was highly frequented and recommended by the likes of many national dj's (who didn't play there in the mid-ninieties?), promoters, record company dons, a few international names (e.g. Andrea 'Bring me Love' Mendez) and last but most certainly not least: straight on clubbers!

The influence of this particular place is far underestimated nowadays. It was a place where like minded people gathered to socialise, to discuss music, to exchange ideas or to prepare for a night out clubbing. Many hook-ups, record deals or parties (e.g. the legendary Food/Loop club, artwork and flyer design) found inspiration or their origin in this tiny place.

Citizens and the authorities weren't acquinted with this 'phenomenon', therefor the café and it's customers became subject of a large number of false rumours and 2 drug busts (the police hardly found anything). The place closed a while afterwards.

This record was made for a legendary café-turned-miniclub called Nota Bene. A tiny place that could barely hold 100 people, yet every Belgian dj with any fame played there. And some international ones too, like Felix Da Housecat...
On the sleeve there's a sticker with the NotaBene logo.
