Obviously this lp has a great line up. Overall it's a very 'standard' sounding lp. The key track is "Out of the Storm," a moody modal piece. Clark Terry plays a wide range of styles and emotions and does the best he can, but he seems to hold the band back overall. This album would have been totally different with another horn player. Burrell, Hancock, Thigpen, Carter all play wonderfully, no shocker. I wish they would have taken more chances with the rest of the lp, like they did with the title track. If you find it for a decent price, I would for sure check it out.
