Effigies* ‎– Remains Nonviewable

Notes:
Collection of the Effigies first two EPs and an early single, plus 4 tracks from their first LP. The album was originally pressed by Roadkill Records in 1989. According to the Effigies' website, 2000 copies were believed to have been pressed. On the original release, Roadkill Records head David Best is listed as the Executive Producer. The insert includes liner notes by Ed Dantes and song-by-song notes by John Kezdy, who was the only remaining original member when the record was released, along with lyrics. In 1995, Touch And Go Records reissued the release on CD. The reissue features additional liner notes (by Steve Albini, Steve Bjorklund, Jack Rabid, and others) and an extra track at the end of the album which features an answering machine message from a club owner complaining about the band's attitude and the volume of their show. The reissue also features the original Ed Dantes liner notes from 1989, although the final paragraph, which featured some less-than-flattering remarks about the current activities of the original Effigies members (excluding John Kezdy, who was still leading a version of the band at that time), was removed, along with David Best's Executive Producer credit. The same lyrics and song-by-song notes appear.

Tracks 1 & 2 were originally released on the "Body Bag" 7" single (Ruthless Records, 1982)
Tracks 3-7 originally released on the "Haunted Town" 12" EP (Autumn Records, 1981)
Tracks 8-11 originally released on the "We're Da Machine" 12" EP (Ruthless Records/Engima, 1983)
Tracks 12-15 originally released on the "For Ever Grounded" LP (Ruthless Records/Enigma, 1984)

The only thing that's missing from this comp is the best song they ever wrote - 'Guns Or Ballots' on the Busted At Oz compilation.....
