Awesome album. Only drawback is its brevity. Probably only record ever made in USA to cover both Lou Reed and Blind Willie Johnson. Cook is in superb vocal form throughout and Tim Carroll supplies grungy, earthy electric guitar. Arrangements are spare and powerful. You can put this on while cleaning house or working on your lawnmower engine and let it repeat three or 4 times without getting tired of it. The first three numbers in particular start off extremely strong; "Tear This Building Down" an infectious kickoff. The purity and bluesiness of the disc duel throughout, making it hard to decide whether you want to go to church or have a drink. But isn't life that way?
