First, let me say that I'm not a big Elton John fan but, probably like most, I like a number of his songs. I only picked up this single for the remix of Believe, which is one of those songs of his that I like.

The single, Made In England, isn't bad but isn't great either. It's not the soft rock we've come to expect from Sir Elton these days.

The live b-sides are probably of interest to fans of Elton's early years and fans of John Lennon or the Beatles as John appears on these live versions from a show in 1974.

So, lastly, we come to the rare Hardkiss Mix of Believe. On first listen I was disappointed as I was expecting a vocal remix. This one is a mostly instrumental "dub mix" instead. However, on second listen, the clever arrangement keeps you engaged for the entire ten and a half minutes of this mix. The first section gives you an instrumental of the original but with expressive female falsetto and acoustic guitar line added. Then the mix suddenly takes a turn as Hardkiss take it to the dance floor but not in a typical thudding house beat. Instead, this mix takes you on an aural trip that nicely highlights the original version's romantic longings as well as adding engaging rhythmic elements. This is a great remix that has stood the test of time and is probably all the sweeter for the realization of how hard it is to find it.

If i believe correctly "the hard kiss mix" is more or less a "dubstrumental",no vocals if any and a very high dance mix,a bit trance-y
