Douglas Appling is an American downtempo/trip hop artist. Soon it will be cold enough is his first album of style just said a moment ago. Having said this, the album uses a more number of styles which include modern classical and jazz.

The melodies are refreshing and amorous in the form of well used guitars, piano and violins, and are placed under the garb of trip hop beats. Sometimes, they are so hidden that it forces the listener to give a proper hearing.

Vocals pay off really well, adding life to the album. Eve is a pure trip hop beat track. The track along with the beat and vocals get amplified by bass sound at the end. The result is that the listener gets struck in awe.

Production from this album and his second album ”Safe in the steep hills” was later used by rapper Sadistik on his debut album Balancing Act. Definitely - an album to check out.

What was out initially as a self-released album, it has now become one of all-time favorite albums for many of the electronic listeners. Recommended album for the lovers of that mellow sound.
