I love this album so much and in vinyl ! Thanks for this great master piece. For me, as a huge Enigma fan, it's a delight to listen a new album. Some repeat sound of the past ? No creation ? Well first Enigma always took some sounds of older album in all new one and i like it, like a reminder and whatever i love those sounds and to here them with new ones in new songs is Enigma perfection for me and what i want To listen ! And for creativity ? Well i answered it in the same time :) new songs, new melody, new sounds and old to keep the spirit of Enigma ... it's all that it is, so for Enigma's lovers, for good relaxing and new music than radios, for discovering, for new lovers, I say don't hesitate a minute ! By the way, no Enigma album is the same (that why some said, "I prefer the sound of the X album" ;) for me, I prefer All (maybe a little less Voyageur,, just little and love "look of the day" and "total éclipse of the moon", oh ok i love this album toi ;)). I really hope for reissue of all Enigma's album in vinyl and All 12" maxi too :))))))))

Well, first of all it needs to be said that this is a brilliant album in general. No one can create the kinds of sonic landscapes that Michael Cretu can. After an eight year break since the prior album, it's as though Enigma never left. The Fall of a Rebel Angel is simply another chapter in this aural saga that Cretu has crafted.

Enigma on vinyl is also extremely rare. To my knowledge, we haven't had an Enigma studio album release on vinyl since 1993's The Cross of Changes, so I'm super happy that Cretu has gotten with the times and made this eighth album available in this format.

As far as sound quality, this LP is above average. Certainly not the best vinyl transfer I've heard, but definitely better than most. When I listen to it, I yearn for higher and more prominent treble like what I hear on the CD and 320kbps digital version. The bass on the vinyl is deep and warm without being overpowering and loud. The whispers, synths, and sound effects float effortlessly among the music and it sounds quite nice. Really the highs are all that's missing. It's also an extremely soft album...I had to turn up my volume a little higher than usual for my record player. But once you adjust that, you will be treated to a very rich sonic experience. It really makes me ache for other Enigma albums on vinyl such as 1996's Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi, or even the first greatest hits album LoveSensualityDevotion.

And the gatefold packaging is gorgeous! It is packed in your typical 2-LP wallet...the first contains the album and the second contains a large booklet which has the entire "story" of The Fall of a Rebel Angel (I much prefer reading it here than listening to it on the CD Deluxe Edition), and then full-page artwork for each song. A rather magnificent package!
