This reissue is remastered brilliantly. What a full, dynamic sound with a great stereo field. The drums sound remarkable, the bass is deep and heavy and the synthesizer cuts through crystal clear. Exceptional detail overall, vocals sound present in the mix. Pressed dead quiet too, no surface noise at all. Listening through speakers, the audio drops are less noticeable and don't seem to bother me, just loses a little clarity during this parts. Sounds excellent nevertheless.

truly gem of an album and this remastering by Mr. Showell is also a true gem .
45rpm , 2Lp, audiophile pressing, half-speed-mastering: it couldn´t get better !!

So, I just ripped the LP into audacity and gave an attentive listen with uh... let's say enhanced senses. There are occasional drops in the left channel. And they're not so much drops as they are a small bit where the higher end is not as clear. Definitely noticeable at a loudish volume on headphones. Playing over speakers not at all. Overall, the remaster sounds really great. Much more clarity and easier distinction of the instrumentation and vocals. I'm entirely impressed with this remaster.

Two neat things: 1. The great Pretender ends in a lock groove, so those 'crickets' can go on as long as you like. I took great delight in letting it go until my son went slightly insane and begged me to stop it. Heh heh. 2. there is a small bit of a radio being 'tuned in' before China My China. I can't remember if that was on my EG pressing (long gone now) but it's not on the Astralwerks remaster, so that's cool too.

Best sounding Eno ever!
I am totally surprised how much the sound improved, the broadness of the "stage" doubled!
This is the pressing to have, definitely.

just sent my copy back as it had intermittent drops in level on the left channel, which was really annoying. Anyone else? a bad batch or are they all like this?
