I was a huge fan of his debut release for Klockworks, but this is quite on the mediocre side. For starters, it lacks the involving minimal structures and the sublime, ethereal micromelody work which would lock the listener in the sound frame in no time. Or, worse yet, it is here, but just isn't as effective. This is quality minimal techno, sure, but it doesn't set itself apart from the abundant competition. You won't find a piece as dreamy and memorable as Aurora on this four tracker.

On its own merit, this is a cool little package of pretty typical German techno on the softer tip, that emphasizes atmosphere over utility. However, while Etapp's heart is in the right place, the atmospheres created are never atmospheric enough, and the bleaker beats leave one yearning for more. He hit on the nail with the last one, now's he's trying to recapture the magic, and honestly, it just doesn't work. On the last track, Luna, the dramatic effect is forced I'd say. The arrangement of the keys hints at melancholy, yet pretty soon it dissolves into triviality, where the subtle piano stabs are more of a burden than a matter of soothing. Basically, you should not even consider buying this if you have not acquired the "Klockworks 10" release. I seriously doubt most would even notice release was it not associated with the hip Klockworks imprint. Well produced, with glimpses of quality, but utterly apathetic and unadventurous.
