Samples Simple Minds 'Changeling' from the album Real To Real Cacophony from 1979.

One of my favorite instrumentals. it put you in a place, like the late-Fall. it's just a great record. I read it sampled Simple Minds but I fail to hear the sample when listening back and forth to the two. for me, this sounds original.

There is no release date info on the record anywhere but having heard it on a tape mixed alongside Blapps possie 'Don't Hold Back' and Mike Dunn 'Magic Feet' so at a guess I would date it somewhere around 1990. The A side, 'Simplicity' contains a sample from a Simple Minds track (not sure which one) hence the title. This sample drives the tune which is punctuated with an infectous vocal hook; 'keep the place hoppin'. This is one of those old tunes that failed to really developed a widespread reputation as an 'old skool classic' but quite easily might have. I like to think hasn't suffered because of this and retains a kind of 'best kept secret' status.
