In the Endless Transition
Drumming the Beating Heart demonstrates new wave instrumentation, post punk ideology and art rock lyrics. “Closed and smiling, crimped at the corners, transient in flight: rain, splash at me, serves as a reminder of real and vital life. Softly you go to transport far from gloom.” But sound is so cold – often colder than a cold wave. “Shrill noise sounding outside of windows, grating as thinking is thrown out of hue to paler straits where eyes so dim glow only beckoning to what glimmers through.” The more syncopated songs are closer to post punk rock and they are more impressive.
