Tantrum is in my opinion one of the best dark records I have in my collection. Very easy to beat match and mix in, good lead at the start. It starts with an eerie western-ish intro before it breaks down into a single bass line. On the drop a not so standard breakbeat hits that is nice to mix in. It very much adds to the snare in the previous record you played. But that bassline... It's a growling and pumping bass, the way I like it. It bites and growls at you with much sub to make clothes vibrate. Awesome.

Mindsplinter is different. This track is more open and feels less intense, staccato so to speak. Also very easy to beat match and mix in thanks to a good lead. Very broad spectrum wobbly bass sounds with a sort-of amen break on top. This track is one of those I play to cool down the dancefloor a bit while maintaining an amen break. After the 2nd drop the beat becomes more even, so this track is also very nice for switching from amen to regular break. A toolkit-track.

Long story short, I'm very happy I have this one in my record bag. It hits the decks almost every time I spin them. If you like dark, you can't go wrong with this one. And do remember to check Part 2 as well!
