Fast Eddie was the shit for me in those days. I heard Get On Up so much that I was totally sick of it and I did not wanted to hear it anymore. Now after 25 years It's possible for me to listen with another ear to Fast Eddie-Git On Up.
It is not brilliant but one of the finest Hiphouse could offer back in the days. It is raw, straight forward and keeps your attention. It would not suprise me if they did this song in 1 take it has got that little rawness to it. Also the rap is worth listening to. I think Sundance has got one of the best voices as a female rapper. Sundance and Roxanne Shante.
All by all cool song!

Hip House became a failed music experiment; however “Get On Up” is by far one of its best creation’s from one of its best creators. Totally pumping dance music with excellent changing breakdowns. The voice of Sundance is what really sets this apart from that other entirely over-hyped and over-stereotyped Hip House.
