Anyone know where the eerie strings at the 2:38 mark of Mother Ship come from? I could swear they are from an old Sega mummy game I used to play around the time this was made (or late 80's).

Alien Terratory is the jam here. Super happy but not cheesy. This tune is classy and that bubbling bass line is to die for. I don't know too many 1993 happy tracks quite like this one. Tunes from this time are either too cheesy or too dark. This one floats in the middle, it's a happy compromise. I'm surprised I haven't come across a Grooverider set with this track in it. It's his style for sure. I came across this record by accident. I was in phillidelphia shopping at 611 Records a few months before they went out of business. I saw this and knew it had to at least be jungle but I wasn't prepaired for how awesome it would be as I listened to it. I felt like a cartoon character in Cool World who's eyes jump from the sockets. This tune really amazed the crap out of me, it's one of my favorites now. The flip side is just standard 1993 dark side which is not my thing. I suppose that's a good thing, it has something for everyone.

"Mothership" is a pretty good description for this tune. It sounds very otherworldly and ominous right from the beginning. Force Ten was supposedly a sister label to Deejay / Lucky Spin set up by DJ Crystl, and "Mothership" certainly wouldn't sound out of place alongside Crystl tracks "Warpdrive" and "Dark Crystl". Great tune.

Allien Terratory is a more conventional piano and vocal led hardcore piece - decent, but doesn't really hit the heights of the B-side in my opinion.

The B-side is the better of the two sides.
