The word 'fermata' refers to an element of musical notation indicating that a note should be sustained for longer than its note value would indicate. These guys must have taken a few music lessons!
This is a fantastic concept album written by and produced by this great Slovakian jazzrock/progressive rock band in memory of the 66,000+ of victims (including Czechoslovakian rock-climbing expedition) of the earthquake in the area of Mt.Huascaran, Peru in 1970.
The band on this LP consists of 6 members, and all are very accomplished musicians. The album is top notch jazz/rock fusion, with some cool progressive prog/space rock leanings. Very well recorded and mixed too. I suggest trying to find the original LP on the 'Opus' label. 9116 0604.
