Printed insert included.

Fleet Foxes (LP):
Recorded at our homes, our friends' homes, our parents' homes, at London Bridge Studio, and at Avast Studio in Seattle, Washington, through the Summer and Fall of 2007. Phil Ek produced, engineered, and mixed, except when we were flailing around at home, recording ourselves poorly for him to clean up later. This happened often. [...] Mastered, at RFI in Seattle.

Sun Giant (EP):
We all played many an instrument. An itemized and individualized list would be egotistical and tiresome.
It was mostly recorded in early January of 2008 at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, Washington. We did additional recording at both our house and at Stuart Hollerman's Avast! Studio, where the EP was also mixed. The handsome Philip M. Ek was the producer, engineer, and mixer. All hate mail may be directed to him. Except mastering hate mail, which can be sent to Ed Brooks at RFI in Seattle, WA.

My copy of this release has an acceptable noise floor with occasional light pops that aren't distracting (not cleaned). The vinyl came with some slight warp that does not effect playback. The sound stage is fairly large with good instrumental separation. Tones are warm and natural. Vocals are clean and high frequencies are crisp but not bright. Guitar is sharp and accurate. Snares and cymbals sound clean and natural. Bottom end is slightly thin but cured by 2.1 listening. The music itself is vivid and peaceful. The included Sun Giant EP is also good pressing but has slightly more surface noise (not cleaned). The EP also seems to have a bit more bottom end. Fleet Foxes are awesome! I recommend this release. (Rega Planar 3, Exact 2 cart, PSE Studio PL, Linn LK85, Linn interconnects, Linn Katans - Linn Sizmik 12.45" for 2.1)

Great album to listen to on vinyl. Got album in great condition and love both the original fleet foxes album and did not expect to recieve the Sun Giant EP along with the LP. When I opened it up and realized Sun Giant was in there, of course I was shocked. I play the album all the time and Sun Giant along with it. The cover and inside of the gate-fold was awesome looking and I was pleased with the notecards and lyrics and such that came with it.

I have now purchased - and was forced to send back - two copies of this LP, because they were both so warped right out of the shrink wrap that my needle would jump off the record when I tried to play them. Does anyone know if this is a batch defect on the manufacturers part? Or is it more likely that it was just from improper storage by the vendor and delivery company? Anyone else open this record up to find two warped discs?
