Belgian Project by Philip 'Flint' Ricquier, FLINTology is a hybrid electro-rock project sounding like a mix between Nine Inch Nails (torment), Gary Numan (the groove and typical 80's sounding synths) and Bowie (during the Outside period). This double album is very good in its genre, with a very neat production. On Backstabber I : dark undistorted vocals, very thought-about as well as the melodies, living and breathing rythms and atmosphere, nothing to be laughed about. Backstabber Part II more nervously explores an industrial feel, even Electronic Body Music springs to mind in certain sequences, with more distorted vocal parts this time, but without the heavy mood of the first disc. It's a different side to the same musician, also well brought and mastered. Double feature in the same box for this talented artist, highly recommended.
