Always associated this artist with quality house vibes sadly seems to have changed style. Shame

This is right up my street. Guy in my local record store said it was alot more 'prog' than any of his other releases, but I should still give it a go. I'm glad I did. It's a fairly unique style in my collection - wish I had more!

Only complaint, like others, is the length. Another 5 minutes or so would have been perfect.

Unfortunately the 5.1 mix on the DVD is out of sync with the visuals. Stereo mix is fine.

Superb! Floyd meets Tangerine Dream meets some retro 21st century new age style of music. Upbeat with elements of space rock, synth music but in a band element. Its extremely engaging and reminds me of the Westerbur & Rowe stuff with a little early Porcupine Tree thrown in for good measure. It does NOT sound anything like early Floyd Echoes etc more like later Glimor solo/Animals etc. I picked this up for nothing since the average music buyer is not as adventurous better for me!

I should have read the comments here before buying, then I wouldn't have been that disappointed. I am not a big Floyd fan, but this actually would bring me back to listen more to Floyd. Naaaa... not really... I am more into other releases by FP, but this album I will return before I unwrap it... Sorry mate... I know the musical intentions are good, but this ( too short album ) simply does not move me an inch. Rather dig into some of the other eps and Elaenia...

Optimal QC got this one right for me, better pressing than the first two Pluto releases. I'm not into Floyd so I'm not bothered if it's similar to them, I just like the music and concept. Could've done with a bit more music and less concept though I suppose.

It seems like a deconstruction of a period sound in an almost shot-for-shot recreation of the original, but everything's been sort of broken in to atomic musical/sonic pieces and recombined in a strange manner that is both at once a homage and a development... like the cultural 'echo' of the original event. It's kinda studiously geeky in an almost Quentin Terrantino-esque manner that this FP and PF fan finds to be charming.

OK I am going to call this out. Let me be clear I have really enjoyed FP's work so far and have many of his releases. I was really looking forward to this and bought it on the release day. I have since played and played this to find the magical elements that some, by far not all, reviewers have commented upon. I have broad music tastes from Pentangle to Madlib, Anthony Braxton to Ghost Box yet all I am hearing is a slightly underwhelming version of mid period Floyd. Perhaps the high concept got in the way of the creativity but essentially to my ears these are half formed jams that have been done better by the likes of Wooden Shjips and Black Angels. Furthermore at 27 minutes long this should have been an EP and it makes me wonder why it is so short? My thoughts only but I am a little tired of seeing reviews hinting at this but not being clear. Floating Points is one of the most interesting British musicians but this is far from one of the most interesting British releases this year.

I would agree that there is a strong Floyd vibe on this record, you can really picture yourself in the desert with them as they play.

Hi, due to life taking over I totally missed this release... Does anyone have a copy of this I could buy?
