Absolutely fantastic. Dead silent between tracks, no clicks, no pops, no hiss. Better bass than I've heard on any digital version of these tracks. And the packaging itself is very high quality

The sound is pretty great. Packaging is nice too. Definitely snatch this up before discogs removes it!

Anyone know if how this compares soundwise with the 2019 HMV reissue?

Am I right in saying that the Phoenix reissue sounds better than this?

A wonderful reissue of this seminal Japanese rock album (one of the best and most original ones of the 1970s) aflow with wicked melodies, shamanistic rhythms and shrieking vocal delivery. The sound quality of this new edition is excellent: crisp, clear and transparent, though a bit weak in the bass spectrum (the album is a wee bit too long for cutting those space-consuming bass-heavy grooves, so perhaps we're all waiting for a special edition where the album is put out on 2 discs...). The mastering engineer has done an excellent job, and so has the pressing plant: wonderfully shiny and flat platters that are a joy to even just look at :)
The printing quality of the cover deserves equal praise: precise, true to the colours, and very well manufactured. So avoid the bootlegs. And I just love the inner artwork where the name of the band is actually spelled "Frower Travellin' Band".

I don't have an original pressing on hand to compare, but this release is a significant improvement over the Phoenix Record bootlegs with less noise and hiss.

Sound quality is so-so but decent overall, could be worse

Haven't heard an original but this press sounds nice to me. Punchy dynamics, no surface noise present. It is of note however that the gatefold art is in fact mis-aligned. If that sort of thing doesn't bother you I'd pick this up.
