Notes

Very first release.
This was redrawn quickly, due to misspelling on the sleeve:
On the sleeve 'Anonymous' is mentioned as being on Side 1, although 'Anonymous' features on Side 2.
On the label of Side 1 itself, 'Anonymous' is also mentioned as being on Side 1.
On the label of Side 2, 'Anonymous' is mentioned again.

Later repressed as "In And Out Of Focus"
with adaptations to the tracklisting. And the addition of the track: House of the King

This was a random garage sale grab for me, and I must say it's been one of the best finds of the summer. $1.00 for a super clean copy of this one: https://www.discogs.com/Focus-In-And-Out-Of-Focus/release/7298689
The back cover sums them up perfectly -- "a unique blend of classical, jazz, and rock" "the most original band I had ever seen" etc.
In my opinion, there are/were several bands during this era that were in this vein. Many of them had great musicians, but they lacked vocal range and/or originality. While this album skews more towards the instrumental side, the vocals do not detract from the music. I anticipated the typical 1971 jam band/prog band, and was pleasantly surprised that they proved me wrong with each tune.
The pressing is great as well. Balanced, and you can tell there was some craftsmanship in the studio. I look forward to their other albums, and feel free to recommend some to me and others reading this.
