Wow! Francis Bebey took me by storm a year ago, when this album was released. I was travelling in Peru and Ecuador at the time, and although this is truly African roots music, these deep, ancient meditations did wonders numerous times while hiking in the Amazonian jungles and the mountainous landscapes of the Andes. San Pedro + Bebey = .........

An amazing compilation. Picked this up on a whim based on the recommendation of a clerk in the record store, and very quickly fell in love. Some of the grooviest rhythms I've ever heard, beautiful melodies, and Bebey's vocals are as great as they are entertaining (very). A wonderful mix of African Folk, with lush, psychedelic soundscapes.
