Whether its a hoax or not its still a warm hypnotic piece of aural ear pie just waiting to take you on that magical minimalist carpet ride thru the evening sunset. There a definitive nod towards minimalist ala Terry Riley and perhaps the solo Peter Michael Hamel style of composing but with a pseudo Kraurock synth edge. The "tone float" here is always cycling, looping and never over bearing, almost meditative in aspect. If your drawn to the warmer, rawer elements of old school farfisa organs, EMS synthi sounds this aural soup is a tasteful treat. Its a bit clean sounding to be of its supposed age ie. 1972 and the artwork doesnt convince one of its authenticity BUT the music is well executed and that should in itself be worthy of ownership.

who gives a fuck wether or not this was a "hoax." it's wonderful, regardless of when it was made. anyone who thinks an album is less good just because it wasn't made in the 70s isn't listening to the music. minimal, ambient krautrock. very cosmic and spacious. kind of reminds me of Sand - Ultrasonic Seraphim.

This entry is focused on the music and not whether it's a real '70s recording or a '90s hoax. Dzyan featured Reinhard Karwatsky of Dzyan, who played bass in that group, but with Galactic Explorers was playing keyboards. What you get is tripped out, minimalist-influenced music heavy on the organ and synths, reminding me a bit of Terry Riley's A Rainbow in Curved Air, early Tangerine Dream, and even early Popol Voh. "Lunarscape" is a perfect example what I'm talking about, with pulsing organ and a spacy droning effect. "Ethereal Jazz" features a bunch of electronic sounds with electric piano, while "Venus Rising" is more bizarre and eerie soundscapes. Of the titles I've heard on the Psi-Fi label, this is one of my favorites, I realize that not everyone can agree, but then again, Tangerine Dream's Zeit isn't for everyone, as much as I love that album, an equal amount hate that one. Again, if you like the most trippy end of electronic music, minimalism, and Krautrock, I can recommend this CD.

This is not a german 72/73-recording, but a hoax (like all Psi-Fi releases)
