There is a repress from the late 90's that is largely identical to this pressing. Major differences are that the repress has no printed inner sleeve, the cover has less contrast resulting in a sharper image and the machine stamped matrices have the last digit hand etched on top of the last "1" of the matrix. The Gang Starr logo also has a grey background on the repress whereas on the original it's black.

Daily Operation definitely ranks among one of Gang Starr’s best projects. DJ Premier’s beats partnered with the smooth and jazzy vocals from Guru creates a hip-hop classic.
On several tracks such as “Soliloquy of Chaos” and “Conspiracy” Guru was making social commentaries on the racism and black-on-black violence that African Americans experienced and still do experience today.
This project also features one of the first tracks from the “Gang Starr Foundation” – I’m The Man featuring Lil’ Dap and Jeru The Damaja. Standout tracks; Ex Girl To Next Girl, Soliloquy of Chaos, I’m The Man, Take It Personal and B.Y.S.

This pressing really suffers from being on one LP – it definitely deserves x2 LPs. Because of that, the album is definitely quieter than others and as a whole lacks that ‘punch’ and ‘bite’ from a high-quality sounding vinyl. The sound quality is fine, but it disappointingly quiet. However; a redeeming factor to this release is the printed inner sleeve which contains all the song lyrics on it – it’s a nice touch.

4/5 for the album, 2.5/5 for the pressing.
