Whatever the status of this specific issue (and obsessives love a rarity), this is sublime House. On a word-doc somewhere is a list of tunes i'll be eternally hunting & this release is one of em. Aces in the pack? 'A Tight Grip' is a relentless late hours/early morning party-deepness slaughter fest of head-nodding, feet shuffling glory and 'Ca', as succinct and groove-laden a composition as its possible to find in this genre. Youlube has versions, enough to show the world how much of a talent Spencer Kincy genuinely was.

One attribute of quality House is that it never seems to age, like a classically cut suit & thats what you get right here. To write more is futile, just listen to Ca a few times and experience a temporal prolapse of the best kind. Wherever you are in the world, Mr Kincy, i salute you and hope life is treating you fairly & honourably sir!

Swirling & unfolding hypno-house/10

Definitely the most obscure 12" by Gemini. All of the 4 tracks here are great in their own way. "Turn Da Music" is a DJ Sneak styled, disco-loop house tune, based on a short sample of "The Players Association - Turn The Music Up!" (1979). Quite uncommon while "Ca" is the typical, deep & melancholic Gemini track in a typical arrangment. Then "Get Down" is a straight percussive track, accented on the rhythm and without those lovely Gemini synth lines. A simple yet effective 4-to-the-floor track. And with "A Tight Grip" it gets a bit more jazzy. Overall a great record that represents some different sides of Spencer. Probably even more than his albums did. He was in top form at that time. Too bad he vanished after this EP.
