"music emporium, November 9, 2013 "For an album allegedly made on transcontinental rails of cocaine"
Most of it "allegedly" supplied by one Sylvester Stewart, who certainly attended sessions (ordering in large quantities of food, drink and South American marching powder and charging it to Asylum's account) and who may even have 'turned up' on 1 or more tracks uncredited

I was never a huge Byrds fan (I bought the 2LP reissue of "Notorious"/"Sweetheart" when I was 14; I loved Notorious" but left "Sweetheart" out in the sun and converted it to an ashtray once it would bend, such was my affection for it) or a fan of Gene Clark's earlier work (still not heard most of that) but I love this record and have done so ever since I heard it first in the late 1970s. I don't need some absurdly-named hipster young person group to tell me which music to like, thanks.

Sound quality on this 4MWB pressing isn't so good. Slight hiss on pretty much every track. Why is 4MWB so unreliable??

Picked this up on a whim, being a big Byrds fan and some of Gene’s earlier work... for me it’s another instance of a very overhyped (retroactivey) cult “classic.” Not 1 song on this grabbed me in the way “Tomorrow” does... just very boring, overproduced, and bland on the whole. Call me cynical but I have to assume, once again, that millennial “cool” musicians like Beach House, one of the Fleet Foxes and others who got together to tour this live in its entirety are doing so mostly with a sense of irony, and fascination with the idea of an under-appreciated “lost classic,” especially one where the artist was convinced it was his masterpiece. Sorry guys, but this was a big snoozer.

I never was a huge Byrds fan; but after hearing RAISING SAND by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss I became quite interested in Gene Clark as a writer. I read Mableheadjohnson's "Lost Albums: 10 Amazing Records You've Never Heard" and saw NO OTHER recommended. I read his review and found a new LP copy for sale here. Great album! Not only was Clark ahead of his time as a writer, he has a pure and unique voice. He also used almost every great background singer in the business at the time. As a fan of the Blu-Ray 20 FEET FROM STARDOM, I really appreciate that.

Another high quality pressing by MoV - pick this one up while it's still affordable.

I bought this album in 1974 when I just graduated from college and it gave me goosebumps, my favorite record of the year. It's now 2017, still one of my desert island discs. Pure genius, as good as the best from Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Joni Mitchell.

I purchased a promo copy from a cutout bin in 1974 and No Other has remained among my most favorite albums since. I read the reviews at the the time and was baffled how so many critics didn't get it. What seemed over orchestrated and strident to some at the time has matured into a legitimate masterpiece which alone makes Gene Clark one of the major talents of the 60's and 70's. Add in his other solo efforts and his two Dillard and Clark albums and you'll be asking yourself why he hasn't been inducted into the hall for his solo career.

I also stumbled upon this record by chance, and it remained on my turntable for months... How this album missed massive commercial success baffles me, but now it holds the charisma of being a diamond in the ruff, and an album known to a select few who dig into the voids.
