Gener 8 had a very minor hit in 1992 with Unity, an Italian rave tune that was remarkable in that Media Records had nothing to do with it (Media Records had a stranglehold on the Italian dance music scene from the late 80's until well past the millennium).

Not much more was heard of Gener 8 until this album surfaced in Japan in 1994. For a group that had barely scratched the surface two years earlier to release a rave album in the midst of Eurodance is truly exceptional, and further more they actually managed to create an album full of first class rave!

I can only imagine that the Japanese market was a little slow to catch on to the European rave scene, because although this album (and the majority of tracks on it) was released in 1994 it practically SCREAMS Belgium, 1991.

Expect plenty of "Mortal Kombat" style riffs à la Channel X along with screaming vocal samples and Italo pianos.

Incredibly, Gener 8 manage to keep the level of interest high throughout (almost) the entire album. The only exception is the downtempo "Activated", the first (and hopefully last) time you will hear a rave track played at half speed.

The album also features the Power remix of Unity as a "bonus track" of sorts, and it is easy to tell the progression in sound that Gener 8 were already pursuing at the time this cd was released.

A very curious cd...
