Original Airdates:
Part I - 23 July 1984
Part II - 30 July 1984
1984 pre-FM Quadruple Translucent Vinyl LP

Radio show producers RKO recorded 100 minutes from the second of the three 1983 dates at the Philadelphia Spectrum for broadcast as part of their CAPTURED LIVE! series. (The RKO Network originated from the Radio-Keith-Orpheum theatre chain formed in 1928; RKO was purchased by General Tire in 1955 then merged into General Teleradio in 1958 as the RKO Radio Network.) This show aired over two consecutive weekends on U.S. radio stations, with DJ Jim Ladd hosting and no commercial blocks presented on the vinyl itself. The running order of the songs gets jumbled at the end, with RKO choosing to place Misunderstanding and Illegal Alien AFTER the show actual closer, Turn It On Again, thus creating a false encore. Presented on translucent vinyl. These transcription LPs are very hard to find.

Here is the third and final night of Genesis in Philly (27 November 1983) as recorded by The King Biscuit Flower Hour for airplay on U.S. radio stations in May of 1984:

Genesis - King Biscuit Flower Hour: Live In Philadelphia Two Part Special

In addition, RKO Records also put out an edition of this recording for broadcast in November of 1984, abbreviated to one show and concentrating mainly on the hits. That double LP set was presented on translucent vinyl and - for a change - DID contain commercial blocks. Jim Ladd hosted this show as well. You can view that set here:
