A much more well balanced and wholesome sound was captured here, on Genesis third album attempt. The classic muffling residing on many of their records such as Foxtrot and their previous which I did not adore the sound on, even as a Pink Scroll, is not as present here. The recording or general EQing for the mixing must have been much better. As a result vocals are especially more real and with the dynamics which have always been there on first pressings it makes me hold this release in much higher regard.
The pressing quality is also quite good with very minimal surface noise if you can get a clean and undamaged copy.
This is one Pink Scroll to own if you can find it.

1. Classic Records Reissue
2. UK Pink Scroll (This)

Equipment Used:
Rega RP1 with Nagaoka MP-110 Cartridge

The red and white inner sleeve mentioned cannot be original because the "Perspective series" is a series of reissues later than 1972,

I seriously doubt the red/white charisma company inner sleeve mentioned on "Notes" is the right one for the first UK press of Nursery Cryme. After all, such inner sleeve has a thumbnail of The Nice's "Autumn '67-Spring '68", which was released on July 1972, so about 6 months after the first release of Nursery Cryme. Revision of this page is needed, preferably mentioning the right inner sleeve for the title.
