A beautifully captured moment in time. George Duke chose his army buddy David Simmons (bass trumpet) for this early date in his career. What a unique sound this quartet evokes! The bass trumpet gives the sound a mellow, intimate, San Francisco in the mid sixties, mood! I wish we would have heard more from David Simmons! Cudos to George Duke!
