'Monkey' was the fourth Number One single in the US, August - September 1988. Since the sticker on this version of the album notes that it includes four number one singles, it logically cannot have been released in 1987. Further, since it notes 'Kissing A Fool' as a single, which was a year-end hit in 1988, this version was probably in stores for the Christmas shopping season, 1988.

Just some friendly research!
