OK so Gerd rhymes with nerd and this is called "Vulcan Princess", not much of an endorsement outside of the Star Trek fanclub, although I'm sure much of this websites patronage will have at least a small (possibly latent) capacity for this kind of thing anyway.

The sausage and the skin do not really match though, and here is what makes this record a pleasant surprise. Primarily cerebral for sure, but with roots as widespread as jazz-funk, broken beat and ambient it is also worth noting that this was all conceived, programmed and played and not sampled.

The subject is clearly space, but this is Universal Language, and the subtlety with which it is incorporated into the mood and groove of the piece, and also lends itself to the unique structure of the tracks is astounding.

To say these tracks had depth would possibly undersell them. I got this 12 many years (not 12 years) ago and every time I think. Well maybe move this on? I give a quick spin before being once again blown away by it and putting it right back on the shelf.

How does a person fit this in a set? Well thats a challenge , but a worthy one as this is such a unique sound.
