Noted on back cover: "Gertrude Stein made these recordings for the Columbia University Archives during her last trip to America, 1934-35. They were issued at that time in a limited edition on old-style shellac discs. Due to improved engineering methods, it has become possible to issue these recordings in high fidelity and to include all six of the original sides on this one long playing record."
Release date cannot be determined, but most likely was released in the early to mid 1950s. Caedmon Records released exact same track listing on TC 1050 in 1956 titled Reads From Her Works. See Gertrude Stein - Gertrude Stein Reads From Her Works

Back cover photo is by Carl Van Vechten taken in 1934 in New York.

Another version of the LP has a different Van Vechten photo on the back and a slightly different label layout. See Gertrude Stein - Gertrude Stein Read By Gertrude Stein
