More tech-house from Get Fucked on their second album WET DREAMS. “Dreams Are Made” samples a blues record for a moodiness to match the sinewy bass, and “Hangover” has a twisting dreaminess to it, but WET DREAMS seems to be less accomplished than DOT TO DOT. The beats are up front and center, while the melodic bits that made DOT TO DOT interesting are more difficult to find. That’s not to say that melody is completely absent from WET DREAMS, but they do seem secondary to the dancefloor thump. “Unreleased Kraut Jazz” has very little jazz in it, instead opting for synth sweeps over some light breaks, while “De Icing” overuses the same vocal snippet. “One to Play Your Mum” finally gives us some hints of emotion by getting progressively funkier and deeper. Overally, though, a slight letdown, from their first album.
