Hate to leave a bad review of such a wonderfully mastered record (the music sounds phenomenal) but I've had two bad copies thus far. My first had skips on Miss Ohio and Lowlands. I received a replacement copy today and this had not one but two skips on Nobody Knows My Name, was pressed off-center, and had bad pops in multiple spots.

So here's why I think people are reporting debris -- like stuck white specs -- in the vinyl. It's the shitty sleeve they used. Even though this was pressed by QRP-- and they actually have a very good reputation amongst vinyl heads, they failed to use the high quality QRP sleeve-- which is identical to the MFSL sleeves. Instead the sleeve is a glossy coated stock that is known to scratch, scuff, and impregnate the vinyl with pieces of debris from the sleeve-- since some of this debris is coated it can scratch and it can easily get lodged in the grooves. I have this problem on side one track one-- in two places-- both making a very loud pop! This was after a thorough cleaning on my Hannl RCM-- twice. So next I had to use a magnifying glass to find the two places that had white debris still lodged in the grooves, put a drop of pure isopropyl alcohol on each one and gently, in the direction of the grooves, scrub that crud off with a Q-tip-- then re-clean and re-rinse the vinyl. I had to repeat this process twice. Now that track plays clean-- but what a PITA-- and all so that the label could save ten cents per record. I should have just returned it-- but that often only gets a worse copy when an LP is sleeved the way this one was. Hope this helps.

Wonderful pressing with sound that makes you feel like you're in the room when it was recorded.

Has anybody good a noisy copy of this release? My copy has some repeat ticks on tracks 4 and 5 on Side One. There is also a nasty sounding loud pop on on track 5 that sounds like a deep scratch but the surface seems fine with no embedded particle. The record has been cleaned (wet and ultrasonically) so I think it must be a poor pressing?
