The crackling vinyl sound in the re-remix seems to be intentional. I have a digital copy of this mix (from the German compilation 'Dizcotheque IV') and the crackling is audible. It is repetitive (always the same) and so certainly sampled with a reason.

Is it normal that the Studio 54 Re-Re Mix is in a bad quality? Really crackling..

The Studio 54-remix is based around a sample (loop) from Lou Rawls "You'll never find another love like mine". Very cleverly used, almost in a "wild pitch'-kinda style. Hypnotic and yes, pure House !
