A desert island disc. I have always been a Gun Club fan but when this came out I was into Hip Hop and other things. I rediscovered this only two years back and was really amazed. Considering how much of a wreck Pierce must have been at the date of the recording it is really astonishing how professional all of this is; sometimes, it sounds like some classic mainstream rock. It is bleak, for sure, but also amazingly peaceful at the same time, as if the demons he was battling on all the albums before, were gone at this moment. Maybe it is the second best Gun Club record after Fire of Love for me, as great as Miami, The Las Vegas Story and Mother Juno are. This gets better the more you play it. Could be the one I choose to listen to as the last one before I check out. One of the best records of the 90s.

An excellent release. Nice dynamics, full, bold sound. Doesn't sound muddy or compressed. Nice driving low end. Great bass response. Vocals sit well in the mix. Really nothing bad to say about this one. Nice, quiet pressing with absolutely no surface noise, flat and centered. Very well done release, I reccomend.
