no doubt taken from a 30 year old cassette tape. Im sure it was a great sounding broadcast back in the day but obviously the tape was not in good order and without top end and it seems this label has performed some heavy-handed exciter processing to try and restore some highs. It is in stereo (well the drums is mono including mono guitars) and a soundboard with the audience just audible (typical direct desk feed) but harsh and brittle sounding with little top end past around 6k and what is there sounds like a rattle in your ear with lots of top end distortion and the tape falls in and out of stability fairly regularly. It sounds...painful and frustrating. For side 1, the vocal can barely be heard. Eventually the engineer turns up the mic in the mix by side 2.
Having said all that its one of the best performances i have ever heard of GnR and an amazing tracklist with the talking between songs intact and it appears like the full concert (Its So Easy Trk1 is missing the start). One of those great-but-not-so-great releases unfortunately. Sound =a weak 7/10
