I love listening to this album with headphones. The keyboard parts are very subtle on some of the tracks and very hypnotic. Huge bass drum thud with little bits of drum parts that echo, and those massive Paul Ryder bass lines. Mark Day's guitar work is superb, very innovative and then Shaun..... Some of the best lyrics ever. I love this album and play it at least once a week.

Now then.... This remaster is amazing, more spacey, more thud on the drums , bass is a little crisper , Shaun's vocal clearer and the keys are more distinct. One of my favourite albums made better. Grab it while you can price going up all the time.

This is Shaun and the Mondays at their best. Lyrical genius.

I definitely recall seeing this on vinyl at a record fair in Manchester many years ago with the original track listing printed on the sleeve ('Country Song' was originally entitled 'Some c**t from Preston'). I notice that this isn't listed on Discogs - does anybody have a copy or were most of those destroyed?

Honestly a bit back-loaded. The second side is bookended perfectly by the post-disco "Brain Dead" and bizarro country-druggéd-outness of "Lazy Itis."

I have a copy of this album but the inner sleeve has a full frontal picture of a naked lady on both sides but in different poses. Does anybody else have this inner sleeve version or is it rare. Many thanks Ed.

'Bummed' is one of the greatest, most original, and untouchable albums ever released. It's surprising that it never even gets in any of the album polls. Martin Hannett produced this, but as it's a departure in sound from all the other stuff he did, the band themselves must be credited for much of the way it sounds. Dance music without even trying to be. I've listened to this album on and off for nearly six years and it still amazes me. Get yourself a copy.
