Mesmerizing back then, and still an awesome slice of electronic music today. Respect!

The A side, "Underwater", is a great slice of instrumental Eurodisco and originally written as the leader music of a popular Italian sports broadcast named "Domenica Sportiva". Due to heavy demand, it was released as a single and as such, it became a huge European hit.
When released 1980, "Underwater", with its layered synths, strings and straight-into-your-face electric guitar in the second part, was a tune way ahead of its time. It would ultimately appear on the House music compilation "The House Sound Of London - Vol. IV - "The Jackin' Zone" in 1988, fitting perfectly among the other tracks and fooling the listener that he/she was actually listening to a then 8 year-old tune!

The B-side "American Express" became the title track of his debut album.
