If this compilation of 3 x12inches could we call a LP..... a masterpiece of the 90's. Let's called it ZEITGEIST in german.

Much Love for Matthew in all his guises throughout the years, and this is a cracking comp of the first few Parts- but just wish a suitable modern replacement could be found for the word 'minimal', often used here to describe the Herbert releases. Minimal means 'less is more', and can be applied to many things of a design ilk. Some of MH's output has been quite the opposite, but even in relation to sparser & simpler tracks like many of the Parts series, the word 'minimal' now carries dirty connotations of late 00's euro ravers wearing day-glow Mc Donald's sunglasses & sniffing K/not dancing. Its now an unsophisticated & misused word thanks to that era & doesn't relate well to the immaculate attention to detail, high design & clever use of fewer ingredients like it used to/should do. Sorry Bauhaus...

Herbert the "Grandmaster", my fav' producer of minimal music..in my opinion, this triple pack is part of it's best-of, but not that ... my copies are new and I take care! anyone who wants to know the true minimal sound should start listening to this bird ;)

A landmark album for any serious collector of minimal funky house and techno. No fillers here, every track is original and genuis. From the Deep House swinging blissful 'thinking of You', to the minimal filth of "Take me Back", this is probably the finest House album ever made. It was a head of it's time in 1996 and still sounds way ahead in 2008. Get it at any price, on vinyl if possible.
