Some people think this thing is crap, whatever ... You think what you want about this release, but for me this one still stays quite a revelation. In Antwerp, Belgium there was a program called "Liaisons Dangereuses" that was specialised in playing obscure electronic "Decadent" music and was along with many others responsible for exposing AB music and obscure house/acid/new Beat trax to a wider audience. This one was a hit in 1987 in their charts and in the notorious Ancienne Belgique discotheque. For a while this 12" was massively sought after !!! Listen to the mean bassline, heavy for the time ;-))), and one of the most tripped out vocalsampling fx I heard in the day. There were no two trax out like this one !! Still one hell of a souvenir !!
A small note on the Ancienne Belgique : The Ancienne Belgique was probably one of the first disco's in Belgium and probably in Europe where they experimented with whatever that was weird and electronic, mixing stuff from movie soundtracks (Carlos Peron Die Spinne), over weird Us Synth groups like Dark Day, over Heaven 17 (Don't let go) to Serge Gainsbourg this way creating a weird robo groove closer to close encounters of the 3rd kind than to your average local discopub. Very influential and more or less responsible for Belgian newbeat along the way !!
