This is essentially a reissue of Horace Andy's "Pure Ranking" album it comes with some additional tracks & a companion disc of dubs.
Inexplicably the track "Strictly Ranking" from the original release does not appear.
In my opinion the album would have benefited from the songs followed by the dubs.
Disappointingly the dubs contain no snatches of vocal. It is therefore a fairly stripped down sound, presumably consistent with the Dancehall sound of the time.
Some rhythms are recycled from the Prince Jammy's produced album "Love Crises"(Black Uhuru)
While not one of his best albums it's a fairly decent effort, the rootsier tracks being the most effective.
The earlier Wackies produced album "Dancehall Style" is perhaps a better prospect overall.
Worth buying for completists.

Additionally worth mentioning all the songs from the first CD appear on the recently released "Horace Andy" compilation "Ain't No Sunshine" on the "Not Bad Records "label with some selected dubs.
