A good album, that sounds much better to me now than 7 years ago, when i bought it. Paper was one of the best british House Labels and here you can hear why. You have some straighter House Tunes : 'Ebers Groove','The Big Crunch', 'Midnight Funkshun' or 'Work It Out'; a couple Downbeat Trax and (Best of all) some very strong jazzy Deep House Gems: 'Together' is undoubtedly the best. The sheer Power and Brilliance of the Drums in dialogue with Keyboards (Piano + Synthesizer) make this really shiny , elegant and convincing.
The Engineering is excellent, so we get a mighty fat Sound with a powerful Bass Drum, that asks for big PA's or quality HiFi Set-Ups. This is a good Homelistening album that often enough finds the Cross-Over to the Dancefloor.

Chris Todd, one third of Crazy Penis, releases Super Magic under his solo moniker Hot Toddy. The mellow tracks on here belie the Crazy Penis connection, but the little touches, like the strong piano chords on “Together,” help the album stand on its own. “Stratocoaster” and “Headlights” bring in the funk effortlessly, while “The Big Thang” throws in some horns to match the whirling synths. Granted, some tracks are so smooth that they slide right off you, but there’s a good time to be had here -- a chilled out time, but good nonetheless.
