This is a largely lovely record and one that is surely worthy of most listeners time, but I struggle to reconcile FTOYWHNAATWH (that title, jeez) to the unfortunate levels of hype with which it has been bestowed (45th best ambient record of all time according to Pitchfork o_O). When the right notes are hit it's celestial, though there one or two tracks that probably shouldn't have made it past 'work_in_progress_folder/okay_sketch_2655.abl' status tbh.

Is it normal that the end of the side B never ends ?

Love this record!! Only slight criticism would be that a lot of the tracks end very abruptly; if prefer a few more fade outs given the general tone. However, really really nice.

These pieces have little progression about them, and seem unfinished. This is a musical equivalent of a box of Kleenex tissues: simple, soft, square, absorbs moisture.

Those expecting a techno album can do one. A techno space opera crossover produced by Thomas Dolby this is not. It could be said if this music was put through an oscilloscope the blueprints to make a robotic god would be found such is the instant dismissal of new music if it does not have instant appeal and cannot be appreciated at once. Our attention spans certainly have not reduced its just now after exposure to so much information we can figure things out faster. This record does not fit in with these ideas. It was possibly made under the influence of a green herb as it wanders through pulsating complex rhythms repeated in loops that sound like a CD is jumping 20 seconds back on repeat. Do not dismiss this as another self-indulgent ambient project it is like Chinese water torture it cannot be recognised after a few drips instead after 48 hours of dripping water the plateau of apprehension will be reached. Personal restraint is optional.

Such a beautiful album. Sad and hopeful. Brought tears to my eyes and ears. Make sure to read the insert.
